Stars of the Future Calf Show 2021
The 11th Stars of the Future Calf Show was the host to one of the country’s largest line-ups of 368 pedigree and commercial calves for 2021 - a real spectacle for those who came to view the day’s proceedings.
Chairman Robert Paterson saying after the event: “Our show will be the largest pedigree calf show in the UK. This year, it was a real showcase for the future stars of the pedigree beef industry in Scotland, with entries from all breeds hopefully going on to top the shows and sales in 2022. ‘Stars’ was the show to be seen at this is winter and we are looking forward to welcoming people from across the length and breadth of the UK to our show in 2022.”
With our very own Highland Cattle section being the largest of entries by far, it was a fantastic sight to see. From an entry of 70 potential winners on the day, our members must be wholeheartedly congratulated on supporting this event so well, and making it such a massive success for our breed. The Highland Section has truly gone from strength to strength over the past few years.
There was a new judging line up this year with the Young Handlers senior and junior classes being judged on the Friday evening, and for next year’s event, it would be great to encourage and see many more of our Highland Cattle youngsters taking part in this.
