We’ll rarely be attending Oban without a Muran in tow and, true to form, this year we have three! Muran is Gaelic for marram, the spiky grass that grows on the weather-beaten machairs, protecting the sand dunes. A native Uist pedigree, our cherished Murans, have pre-eminence amongst our herd for their exceptional breeding qualities and cross well with a variety of bulls. This sweet girl, a daughter of Hector of Balnabroich, is a cousin of the two bulls above; her granddam, Muran Dhubh has produced many quality animals over the years including our current stock bull, Lord Muran of Ardbhan.
